Ethos of Tower College
The Principal, Governors and Staff of Tower College work to maintain the original aims of the late Mr Charles and Mrs Muriel Oxley, the school’s founders.
Their vision for the school, which with hard work and dedication they made into a reality, was to provide an education of high academic standards, where children learn the benefits of adherence to excellent behaviour in a caring, Christian environment.
The pupils are nurtured and encouraged to ‘aim high’ by staff who are dedicated to their success, happiness and well-being. The staff lead by example and encourage the pupils to be tolerant and compassionate towards one another and to care for the younger children.
Special emphasis is laid on the spiritual aspect of the Christian education provided. The school is not affiliated to any denomination, and pupils of all faiths or none are accepted on the understanding that they will participate in Morning Assemblies and all Religious Studies lessons which are based on the Christian faith. Pupils are expected to show tolerance and respect for each other’s faiths, and kindness and courtesy in all aspects of school life.
